Creating a cannabis logo that represents your passion, knowledge, skills, product, and or service is very important in the cannabis industry.

You came up with a unique name for your cannabis business and now your thinking about cannabis logo design ideas. Whether your business services the industry or your a cannabis farm, extract company, vape company, edible company, sell CBD products, industrial hemp company, and or a medical/recreational dispensary. Whatever it is you provide for the industry. Coming up with, implementing, and using cannabis marketing with a design that represents you and attracts your desired audience can be difficult. Follow these steps to create a logo design for your cannabis business.

1.) Research

Cannabis market research is key to developing your logo and brand. Check out design elements of other cannabis companies in your sector and across others on Google and social media. What kind of colors are they using? Is it just text or a design? Who are they targeting? Who are you targeting? Of course you want individuals 18-65+ to buy your product, but you need to hone in on who will relate to your logo and your products or services!

You might get some inspiration from outside the cannabis industry. That being said, now that you a little more of an idea of what kind of logo you want. Also, make sure your logo not only matches your business name but you cannabis domain as well!

2. Original
 

Do NOT copy, replicate, duplicate, and or imitate any logo of another business or organization! Ask yourself  “How can I be different from everyone else in my field of business? ”

Create a logo that is completely original and unique. Your logo is not just a representation of your business. It’s a reflection of you and what you stand for and what you offer to the world. I can’t emphasize this enough…DO NOT copy any logos from any business, company, organization, or corporation inside or outside the cannabis industry. Don’t just create a piece of shit logo with images you found on the internet and put on Instagram. You will attract loyal customers and business partners with a high quality unique logo. People are going to associate your logo with your face and voice, remember that! Make it original for you and your audience.

3. Keep It Simple
 

Keep it simple stupid. Your over thinking it! Nothing too busy or over the top. You want a logo that is easily recognizable and approachable. A simple yet vibrant logo that people can relate to is key. Now, there is a difference between being simple and being lazy. A stock photo with text on it isn’t going get you anywhere. This is your logo for your cannabiz! It’s ok if your not an artist, just get high and doodle on a piece of paper for inspiration at first. Having a hand drawn or digital rough sketch can actually help your cannabis logo designer. No matter how amazing or detailed a design you come up with is. Remember, keep it simple!

4. The More Relevant, The better!

Does your logo tell you what have to offer or do as soon as you look at it? Is the name and spelling rememberable? Does it make sense? Be creative, but don’t try to jump on trends or try and be funny with your logo. This is serious stuff, your logo can make or break your cannabis business. You can still have fun and be strategic when your at the drawing board. The more relevant the better to reach your target audience.

5. Make sure it’s scalable for print and web. 

So what does that mean exactly? Once your logo is complete, be sure you have the necessary file types to expand or decrease your logo image when you put it on your website, product label, social media, t-shirt, banner, etc.

You don’t want your logo looking pixelated anywhere. Having a scalable logo design will make your life easier.

6. Have a memorable design that makes people say “Wow!”
 

When someone comes across your logo you want people to be amazed. Your logo is the foundation for years to come.
